Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 23, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Tryps Inc. ("Tryps," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares personal information in connection with our website, mobile application, iMessage and SMS agent, voice calls, and related services (collectively, the "Service").

If you have questions, email us at privacy@trypsagent.com or write to Tryps Inc., 1536 University Club Dr, Austin, TX 78732.
01

Who This Policy Covers

This Policy covers two groups of people:

  • Users — people who sign up for a Tryps account, verify a phone number, and agree to our Terms of Service.
  • Non-User Participants — people whose personal information reaches Tryps because a User added the Tryps agent to a group conversation with them, shared their contact information with Tryps, or otherwise interacted with Tryps without creating an account. We describe how we handle non-user information in Section 6.
02

Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

  • Account and identity information. Mobile phone number, name, email address (optional), profile photo (optional).
  • Travel preferences. Destinations, dates, budget, traveler details, seat preferences, accommodation preferences, and other trip-planning inputs.
  • Messages and content. The text, images, files, and voice messages you send to the Tryps agent or submit in the app.
  • Contacts. If you add people to a trip, share contact cards, or ask the agent to reach out to a friend, we receive the information you provide about that person (typically a name and a phone number).
  • Payment information. Payment method details are collected by our payment processor (Stripe); we receive limited transaction data such as the last four digits of your card, transaction amount, and billing ZIP.
  • Booking information. Details about flights, hotels, rides, and other bookings made through Tryps, including passenger names, travel dates, itineraries, and confirmation numbers.

2.2 Information We Collect Automatically

  • Device and app information. Device model, operating system, app version, language, time zone, crash logs.
  • Usage information. Features you use, screens you view, taps and interactions, timestamps.
  • Messaging metadata. Phone numbers of parties in a conversation, message timestamps, delivery status, and whether a message is iMessage or SMS. We do not read the contents of messages in conversations to which the Tryps agent is not a party.
  • Approximate location. Derived from IP address. Precise location is collected only if you opt in.
  • Identifiers. Device identifiers, advertising identifiers (only with consent where required), Tryps-issued account identifiers.

2.3 Information from Third Parties

  • Travel and booking providers. We receive booking confirmations, itinerary changes, and fulfillment details from Providers such as Duffel (flights) and other travel partners.
  • Payment processors. Stripe sends us transaction data.
  • Messaging carriers and platforms. We receive delivery status, opt-out requests (STOP/UNSTOP), and basic metadata from SMS aggregators and Apple's iMessage service.
  • Other Tryps Users. As described in Section 6, a User may share your name, phone number, or other information about you with Tryps in the course of planning a trip.
03

How We Use Information

We use personal information to:

  • Provide the Service, including operating the AI agent, responding to messages, planning trips, making bookings, sending confirmations, and supporting group coordination
  • Personalize results, recommendations, and agent responses based on your preferences and prior interactions
  • Process payments and prevent fraudulent transactions
  • Communicate with you, including service messages, booking confirmations, trip reminders, and (with your consent where required) product updates
  • Improve and develop the Service, including evaluating and fine-tuning AI models, debugging, and measuring feature performance
  • Maintain safety and security, including detecting abuse, preventing spam and harassment, enforcing our Terms, and protecting our users and the public
  • Comply with legal obligations, respond to lawful requests from authorities, and enforce legal rights

Legal Bases (EEA / UK / Similar Jurisdictions)

Where the GDPR or an analogous law applies, we rely on the following legal bases:

Legal basisWhen we rely on it
ContractTo provide the Service you requested
Legitimate interestsTo improve the Service, maintain security, prevent fraud, and coordinate travel in multi-party conversations, subject to your right to object
ConsentWhere we ask for it — for example, precise location, marketing communications, or certain uses of cookies
Legal obligationWhere processing is required by law
04

AI Models and Message Content

Tryps uses large language models and related AI systems to power the agent. Messages you and your trip participants send to Tryps are processed by these models to generate responses and complete tasks.

  • Third-party model providers. We send message content to AI model providers strictly to generate responses on your behalf. We contract with providers that commit not to use your content to train their public foundation models. Providers may retain content briefly for abuse monitoring.
  • Our own improvements. We may use message content to improve Tryps itself — for example, to evaluate agent quality, diagnose failures, and fine-tune Tryps-specific models. Where we do so, we apply access controls and, wherever practical, work with de-identified or aggregated data. You can request that your account's content be excluded from these uses by emailing privacy@trypsagent.com.
  • No sale of message content. We do not sell message content and we do not share it with advertisers for ad targeting.
05

How We Share Information

We share personal information with:

  • Travel Providers (for example, airlines, hotels, Duffel, and rideshare providers) as necessary to make and manage the bookings you request
  • Payment processors (Stripe) to process transactions
  • Infrastructure and service providers that host and operate the Service on our behalf, including Supabase (database), cloud compute providers, SMS and voice carriers, analytics providers, and customer-support tools — all under contracts requiring them to protect the information and use it only for the services they provide to us
  • AI model providers as described in Section 4
  • Other participants in your conversations. Anything you send to the Tryps agent in a group conversation may be seen by the other participants in that conversation. The agent may also summarize or relay information between participants as you ask it to
  • Professional advisors (lawyers, accountants, auditors) under obligations of confidentiality
  • Authorities and others, where we reasonably believe disclosure is required by law, necessary to protect rights or safety, or appropriate to investigate fraud or abuse
  • Successors, in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy
We do not sell personal information for money. Some sharing may constitute "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising or a "sale" under state privacy laws like the CCPA; where that is the case, we will honor your opt-out rights as described in Section 9.
06

Non-User Participants

This section describes how we handle information about people who did not themselves sign up for Tryps but whose information reaches us — primarily when a User adds the Tryps agent to a group conversation, or shares someone else's contact information with Tryps.

6.1 What We Collect About Non-User Participants

  • Phone number and display name, as they appear in the conversation or as shared by the User
  • The content of messages the Non-User Participant sends in a conversation that includes the Tryps agent
  • Metadata about those messages (timestamps, delivery status)
  • Any travel-related details the Non-User Participant provides in the conversation (for example, passport name for a booking, dietary preferences, dates of availability)

We do not create profiles of Non-User Participants beyond what is necessary to operate the Service. We do not combine Non-User Participant data with advertising identifiers, and we do not use it for ad targeting.

6.2 How We Use It and Why

  • Let the Tryps agent respond appropriately in the conversation and carry out the travel-planning tasks Users ask it to do
  • Keep a coherent conversation thread across participants
  • Handle bookings that may require the Non-User Participant's information (for example, a passenger name on a flight)
  • Operate and secure the Service, detect abuse, and comply with law

6.3 Notice on First Interaction

The first time a given phone number appears in a Tryps-hosted conversation, the Tryps agent will ordinarily send a one-time notice identifying itself as an AI agent, linking to this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service, and explaining how to opt out. We send this notice once per phone number across that person's lifetime with Tryps, not once per conversation.

6.4 In-Group vs. One-to-One Messaging

  • In-group messaging. Within a group conversation, the agent may respond to messages, contribute to the planning task, and invite participants to create their own Tryps account by posting an onboarding link in the group.
  • One-to-one messaging (outside the group). We do not initiate unsolicited one-to-one SMS or iMessage conversations with Non-User Participants. Tryps will begin a one-to-one thread only if the Non-User Participant creates a Tryps account, initiates direct contact themselves, or applicable law otherwise permits a particular message.

6.5 Opt-Out and Rights

Non-User Participants have the same privacy rights described in Section 9. In addition:

  • Replying STOP to the Tryps number triggers a phone-number-level suppression across all Tryps-hosted conversations. We maintain a global suppression list and honor it until the person affirmatively opts back in by replying START.
  • Removing the Tryps agent from a group conversation ends the agent's participation in that conversation
  • Emailing privacy@trypsagent.com allows the Non-User Participant to request access, correction, or deletion of their information

6.6 Retention of Non-User Data

We retain Non-User Participant data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this section, or as required by law. Records of consent and opt-out — including timestamps, phone numbers, and the consent surface used — may be retained for longer periods to document compliance with applicable messaging laws.

6.7 User Responsibilities

Users who add the Tryps agent to a conversation or share another person's contact information with Tryps are responsible for having a reasonable basis to do so and, where applicable law requires, for informing the other person. Our Terms of Service Section 4 sets this out in more detail.

07

SMS, iMessage, and Voice

7.1 Messaging Consent

When you sign up for Tryps, you give us your express written consent to receive automated SMS or iMessage messages from Tryps at the phone number you verify. Before you complete signup, we disclose that (a) consent is not required as a condition of purchase, (b) message and data rates may apply, (c) message frequency varies based on your use of the Service, and (d) you can opt out at any time by replying STOP. We keep a record of your consent, including timestamp and the signup surface you used.

7.2 Opt-Out

You can opt out of non-essential messages at any time by replying STOP to the Tryps number. You can rejoin by replying START. For help, reply HELP or email support@trypsagent.com. Certain transactional messages (for example, booking confirmations and security alerts) may continue as required to provide the Service.

7.3 Carrier and Aggregator Data

We share originator data, message content, and opt-in/opt-out status with SMS carriers and aggregators strictly as necessary to deliver messages. We do not share your SMS opt-in data with third parties for their marketing.

7.4 Voice Calls

Voice calls made through Tryps may be transcribed and processed by AI for quality, safety, and feature purposes. Where required by law, we will disclose that a call is being processed and obtain any required consents.

08

Security, Retention, and International Transfers

8.1 Security

We implement technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, role-based access controls, and monitoring. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8.2 Retention

We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the Service, maintain required records (including for tax, accounting, and legal-hold purposes), and support safety and fraud prevention. When we no longer need information, we delete it or de-identify it.

8.3 International Transfers

We operate primarily in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the U.S. and other countries where our service providers operate. Where required, we use Standard Contractual Clauses or another lawful transfer mechanism.

09

Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Delete personal information, subject to limits
  • Port your information to another service
  • Object to or restrict certain processing, including processing based on legitimate interests
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
  • Opt out of "sale" or "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising (we do not sell for money; see Section 5)
  • Appeal a decision about your rights request

To exercise these rights, email privacy@trypsagent.com. We will verify your request (typically by sending a verification code to the phone number or email associated with the information). You may also authorize an agent to make a request on your behalf.

If you are a California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, or Utah resident, you have rights under your state's privacy law. EEA/UK residents have rights under the GDPR/UK GDPR and may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
10

Children

The Service is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, email privacy@trypsagent.com and we will delete it.

Users between 13 and the age of legal majority should use the Service only with a parent's or guardian's involvement. See our Terms of Service for eligibility.

11

Cookies and Similar Technologies

Our website and app use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, security, analytics, and (where permitted) limited measurement. You can manage cookies in your browser. Where required by law, we present a cookie banner that lets you choose non-essential cookies.

13

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the Service, by SMS to your verified phone number, or by another reasonable method. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when this Policy was last revised.
